1. Who these terms are between

These terms govern your use of the FingerRead browser extension and any related services (together, the "Software") provided by microstep ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

Purchases are made from our merchant of record. When you buy a paid plan, the sale is completed by our merchant-of-record partner, which acts as the legal seller to you. It handles payment processing, invoices, and the taxes due in your country. Its own terms and privacy policy also apply to that transaction, and we will name the partner on the checkout page.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software for your own reading. You may install it on any number of devices that you use, as long as you are the person signed in to the membership.

3. Accounts and trials

Paid plans and trials are tied to the email address you sign in with. You are responsible for keeping access to that address. New accounts receive a 7-day trial; we may change or withdraw trial terms for future accounts at any time. We may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is being abused, for example by repeated trial creation.

4. Payment, renewals, and price changes

Prices are displayed excluding taxes; taxes are calculated at checkout based on your billing country and are collected by our merchant of record. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the account or customer portal, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We may change prices for future billing periods; if we do, we will make the new price clear before it takes effect.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. The Software is provided "as is"

The Software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will work on every website, browser version, or page layout, or that it will be free of errors or interruptions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects statutory consumer rights that apply where you live.

6. Changes to the Software and to these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Software. We may revise these terms; material changes will be announced on this page and become effective when posted. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Software at any time and uninstall it. We may terminate this licence if you materially breach these terms. If we terminate your paid membership without cause, we will refund the unused portion of the current period.
